Cardiff Council is looking to install 50 cycle hangars across the city to provide safe and secure storage for bicycles in residential areas, and seven of them are planned for Splott.
Here’s what they look like:

Here’s where the council is proposing to install them in Splott:
Street | Location information |
---|---|
Adeline Street | Alongside 56 Railway Street |
Cameron Street | Alongside 171 Habershon Street |
Eyre Street | Alongside 111 Carlisle Street |
Marion Street | Alongside 59 Habershon Street |
Moorland Road | On build-out opposite 245 |
Singleton Road | On carriageway at block end with Aberdovey Street |
Swinton Street | Alongside 150 Carlisle Street |
Here’s how that looks on a map:

Most of the hangars will be placed on the road against the kerb. A small number will be installed on the pavement. You will be able to rent a space in the hangar (the idea is to help people who live in flats or HMOs (with no storage space for a bike) to be able to participate in active travel if they wish, with storage limitations not being a barrier).
At this stage, the Council is only asking for feedback from residents on the streets listed above.
If you live on any of the streets where bike lockers are proposed to be located and would like to comment, please send any feedback to will.wilson@cardiff.gov.uk.
This engagement closes at 12 midday on 12 September 2025.
What happens next?
The council will review your feedback and decide if it will continue with the proposal.
If they decide to continue, they will start a traffic regulation order process which will involve a formal consultation.
