If you would like a spot of quiet company this Friday, this is just the thing.

Friendly Friday is a free monthly shared lunch at Railway Gardens in Splott, open to all, and designed to support wellbeing and new connections. There is the option to help with the cooking, supported by the Railway Gardens team and volunteers, or to simply attend and enjoy a hot meal with others.
Friendly Fridays are a wonderful way to get out and about, meet new people, and enjoy friendly company in a comfortable space. This is an accessible, calm session, with no more than around 15 people sharing lunch together to avoid it being overwhelming. It takes place in the warm community room at Railway Gardens, so participants can step outside and enjoy the beautiful garden space, sit in the sun, listen to the birds and watch the trains go by. For those interested in helping with the cooking, it’s a great opportunity to learn new skills and pick up more confidence cooking affordable, nourishing recipes.
The next Friendly Friday is this week, August 21st, and there is full info and a booking page here, although the team understands that booking is not possible for everyone so they absolutely welcome drop-ins!
Cooking takes place from roughly 11am – 12:15pm, then sit down to enjoy the meal together until around 2pm. If you can’t make it for the cookery part of the session then you’re welcome to just attend for lunch. Please take a tupperware container in case of any leftovers.
Railway Gardens is located next to the railway track at the end of Adeline Street in Splott.
