Friends of Tremorfa Park – Committee members needed

Friends of Tremorfa Park, a group of volunteers that meet to litter pick and make a positive difference to the green space in their area, is looking for new committee members.

Since its creation in 2018, Tremorfa Park Community Group (also known as Friends of Tremorfa Park) has brought members of the community together to care for and look after the Park.  Regular litter pick events organised with support from Keep Wales Tidy have resulted in the collection of hundreds of bags of rubbish providing opportunities for park users, neighbours, sports clubs and schools to volunteer together and make their park and community a better place to live.

The group is now seeking NEW committee members to come forward and volunteer to run the group and help make it even better!

They are looking for people to:

  • Perform committee roles (Chair, Treasurer, Secretary) to run the group, manage funds, and organise community events. Keep Wales Tidy will be on hand to help with the first few events and to offer for organising events, health and safety, insurance etc.
  • Reach out to other local organisations and park users to help expand the group and achieve even more great things to improve the park and protect the community in which they live.
  • Promote and advertise the Group’s activities and events – so as many people as possible know who they are, what they do, and how to join in and get involved.

The current committee (four members) will be stepping down later this year – and so it is time to ‘hand over the baton’ to a new team of amazing people – to ensure Tremorfa Park Community Group continues to thrive and achieve great things.

If you or someone you know would like to volunteer to join the organising committee, or you’d simply like to find out more – please contact Gareth Davies at  gareth.davies@keepwalestidy.cymru or on 07824 504809, or join the next Litter Pick event taking place on Sunday 19th February between 10.30-12noon in Tremorfa Park (meeting in the car park of St Albans Rugby Club).

The group will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the same day, date and time to review its achievements over the last year and to elect a new committee.  If no volunteers are identified the Group’s AGM will be used to consider and agree the steps needed to close the group, so they really need some helping hands!

Help continue the great work of Tremorfa Park Community Group – volunteer to join the committee!
