One week to go to the first Splott Community Fete

On Sunday August the 7th, Splott will have its first Community Fete, organised by local volunteers and supported by the Old Illtydians RFC and many other organisations.

The fete will start at 11am and finish at 5pm and Splottlanders will be able to enjoy street games, craft stalls, face painting, music, dance, food and drink across three locations in Splott: Moorland Park, Singleton Road and the Old Splott Library.  According to the flyer, there will be a cartoonist (excellent!), a circus skills workshop and the chance to ‘beat the goalie’ and, intriguingly, ‘soak a copper’.  Sounds like fun!

The fete is free to attend and will raise funds to address disadvantage and inequality for people from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds and build stronger community relationships to give young people a better chance for the future.
