Railway Gardens gets underway!

After more than five years of planning, plotting, and fundraising – the time has come to build!

On November 1st, Railway Gardens team hands over the site just off Railway Street on the corner of Adeline Street to the contractors for groundworks to begin. To mark this huge milestone, let’s get together for a cup of tea and some tree planting!

Join the team behind Railway Gardens on Saturday 23rd October at 10.30am for a cup of tea, some cake, and a groundbreaking ceremony to mark this new phase of the project and celebrate our community in Splott and Adamsdown. Everyone is welcome!

Gates open at 10:30 and the ceremony will be held at 11am. Bring your own mug if possible!

This event is completely free but if you do wish to make a donation to support the project you can do so through eventbrite or on the day.

Get involved

The team would love for you to take part in the ceremony. As the site doesn’t lend itself to easy digging, they’ll be planting some fruit trees in containers instead. Would you like to…

– Plant one of the trees?

– Read a poem, perform a song, or say a few words? All languages very welcome.

– Bake a cake or some biscuits?

– Take photos or film of the event?

Let Railway Gardens know how you would like to get involved when you register, or email hannah@greensquirrel.co.uk

Registration is optional but if you want to register the project team can send you a reminder. They’re also planning to livestream the ceremony and can send you details of how to watch. Register your place here: https://bit.ly/2YJxQBi
