Cardiff Rivers Group tackle Splott Beach this Friday!

We in Splott are the envy of The ‘Diff with our spectacular coastline of bricks and boulders and now residents have the chance to join in a clean up of the Splott Riviera this Friday.

Incredible volunteer group, Cardiff Rivers, will be turning their attention to Splott Beach on Friday 18th March to litter pick and remove rubbish from the coastline and have published details on how you can help on their website.

Join them for their first visit in nearly three years to help clean up our coastline from 9:45 am – 12:00 pm this Friday.

Splott Beach Clean Up 2018

Top tips from the website (I particularly like the no flip flops rule):

Please don’t try to park at the lay-by — there’s very limited space there and it will be needed for the CRG truck and trailer. There’s plenty of parking in Darby Road a little further down Rover Way or in the Southpoint Industrial Estate in the other direction, from which there’s a shortcut near the end of Clos Marion through to the beach (marked on the map on the website).

A quick note about the reality of Splott “Beach”. Forget sand, think stones and bricks  — so please wear sensible footwear (not flip-flops).

So, if you have time to spare, why not join the mighty Cardiff Rivers Group volunteers and make a difference!
